So back to my story...
If you don't get the basic bowling accessories now, you will regret it!
This is what will happen...
You'll be bowling a great game, it looks like you're on you way to having your best game ever. Then suddenly, your shoes seems like it's a bit too sticky. you hands are a bit too sweaty. Your thumb doesn't fit right any more because it is swelling from all the pressure.
And you don't have anything to fix it! This is the stuff of nightmares for us bowlers!
So, let's avoid it shall we?
The Basic Bowling Accessory
The very first bowling accessory you need is a bowling accessory kit. Makes sense doesn't it?
At the basic level, you want to make sure the the kit contains the following:
- Carrying Case - so you can be organized!
- Easy Slide - keeps you sliding, but don't use too much!
- Skin Strips - acts like a second skin to protect yourself. There is also liquid stuff that seals and protects skin. Hurts like a dog while it dries though.
- Grip Sac - stops the perspiration.
- Rosin Bag - really helps the grips, but watch it our you might rip skin.
- Insert Tape - helps snug your thumb when you need it.
- Small Pocket Knife - helps in removing or placing tape. Very useful.
- Small Hand Towel - it's amazing how dirty things get! Click here to see a wide variety of bowling towels.
You can easily assembly all this stuff individually. If you don't have a bunch of this stuff already. I would recommed that you buy a kit. I think you get a good deal in purchasing a pre-assembled kit. If you are interested in checking out a basic bowling accessory kit, click here.
Now, while this kit is fine and dandy, what about when the felt on the bottom of your show is getting matted? Or you need to do some serious work on your thumb or finger holes?
If this is the case then you need some serious tools.
So, add to the list above:
- Tape Insert Tool
- Shoe Brush
- File
- Bigger Bag!
If you want to get it over with right now, check out this pro bowling kit by clicking here. It's the second one down on the page.
Ok, good start, but you're not done yet...
Bowling Gloves and Supports
I don't know about you, but I have weak wrists. It is always a battle to to keep my wrist from breaking. And we all know how bad that is!
Thank goodness for wrist supports. They really allow you to basically forget about having to keep your wrist stiff. They do it for you.
There are a ton of different kinds. You can get those with finger support, cupping adjustment, with our without glove.
This is what I recommend.
First, get a basic wrist support liner. They look like this: If you are like me, you palms will sweat and these babies are really good at absorbing the extra moisture. To find out more information about these wrist support liners, click here.
Next, get a good wrist support. While there are many of them and everyone has a different taste. I really like those which offer me both finger support and the ability to "dial" in the amount of bowling ball cupping.
Here's one I really like. It's called the "Cobra 3" by Team Cobra. To get more information on this, click here or on the picture.
Now, if you aren't sure of what glove support size you should be wearing, click here for a really handy sizing chart.
So that is my bowling accessory recommendation for bowling supports and gloves. If you would like to just see all the different kinds of bowling supports and gloves there are, just click here. There is also a neat search that helps you find the bowling supports and gloves that are best for you. Give it a whirl, but make sure you use the sizing chart.
