Routine - Another Bowling Free Tip

Figure out a routine that you will use everytime you compete. Some would say to plan out your complete day. This may be a little extreme from most of us.

For this bowling tip, I suggest have routine set for when you get to your lane.

My routine for instance:

  1. Clean and put balls on return tray.
  2. Clean and put on shoes.
  3. Check fingers and thumb fit in each ball.
  4. Check sliding on my approach.
  5. Go through the approach without the ball a few times.
  6. If I can have practice frames. Take a few and think of how it feels and make adjustments for lane conditions.
  7. Clean balls, wipe hands, relax.

Now, when I it’s my turn up:

  1. Clean ball.
  2. Dry hand over air blower while focusing on my arrow and what I want to do.
  3. Address the lane.
  4. Put ball into position.
  5. Focus on arrow.
  6. Take a deep breath and relax.
  7. Forget it and bowl.
  8. Analyze foot positions, if I hit my arrow, ball movement, and pin actions.
  9. Think of what to do for next frame.

Everyone will have their own routine. Just have one. It will help!
